Multi Modal Logistics Parks

A multi-modal logistics park is a transportation hub that offers multiple modes of transportation and logistics services in one location. It is a facility that integrates various transportation modes such as rail, road, sea, and air, as well as warehousing, storage, distribution, and value-added services.

India has several plans for the development of multi-modal logistics parks in the country. The Government of India's "Sagarmala" program is a key initiative aimed at promoting port- led development and enhancing the country's logistics infrastructure. Under this program, several multi-modal logistics parks have been planned and are being developed across the country.

As of September 2021, there were a total of 35 Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) operational in India. These logistics parks are spread across different states in the country and offer various logistics services such as container handling, warehousing, and transportation.

Apart from these 35 operational MMLPs, several more MMLPs are under construction or in the planning stage as part of the government's efforts to boost the logistics infrastructure in the country. These MMLPs are being developed under the Sagarmala program and other initiatives and are expected to cater to the growing demand for logistics services in India.

National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Nangal Chaudhary, Haryana - This logistics park is being developed on 886 acres of land and is expected to cater to the growing demand for logistics services in northern India. It will have facilities for warehousing, container handling, and value-added services such as packaging, labeling, and quality control.
