"Logistics Sector Skill Council, (LSC) a not for profit organization registered under Sec.8 of Indian Companies Act,2013 set up by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) / National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) with the aim to ensure skill trained Human Resource at entry level and up-skill the logistics workforce. LSC works with stakeholders, including industry players, government agencies, training providers, and academic institutions, to identify the skill gaps in the logistics sector and design training programs to address those gaps LSC is an approved awarding body of NCVET."
Logistics Sector Skill Council is governed by its Governing council comprising eminent Captains of Industry.
The Members of the Governing Council are representative of the 12 Sub Sectors that LSC represents namely:

- - Land Transportation (including Commercial Vehicle Drivers for Cargo)
- - Cold Chain Solutions
- - Courier and Express Industry
- - E-Commerce
- - Port Terminals, Inland Container Depots, and Container Freight Stations
- - Air Cargo Handling (other than Tarmac side operations)
- - Freight Forwarding and Customs
- - Marine Services, Shipping and Inland Waterways
- - Supply Chain Solutions
- - Liquid Logistics
- - Rail Logistics
The objectives of the Logistics Sector Skill Council are as follows:
Carryout the Occupational and Functional Mapping of the Sector/ Sub Sector to assess the Job Roles in demand
Develop the Occupational Standards Develop Curriculum and Content for the Job Roles (for Standardisation in Training Delivery) Monitor Training, Implement Third Party Assessment and Certify Endeavor to provide an end-to-end solution, i.e. Help Mobilise, Skill Train, Help Place (employ), Track and Develop Career Progression Facilitate in creating viable Industry driven structured solutions for skilling
